MoonlitDays

– Writings from the Heart

The Rainy Season

As I stood enthralled by the beauteous scene,
My sweetheart floated in beside me.
A gentle breeze wafted through the window,
Unbeknownst to the dreamy couple.

The Sunset

The Lord of the Heavens was getting ready
For His dip, to rise again the next day.
Mesmerised by the magnificent evening skies
Displaying kaleidoscopic patterns,
We opted to sojourn with Mother Nature.

The Sublime Moment

Two souls on the threshold of old age
Drinking in the beauteous scene
Travelled back in years in a wink,
Forgot ourselves in the sublime moment,
Lost in reverie, in a world of our own.

My Father

At a loss for words am I
When I sit down to write
About my father, for, I have
Not the faintest memory of
Having seen him, or heard him.

The Monsoon and the School

The sweltering summer, at long last,
Gives way to monsoon in early June.
The title of this poem awakens in me
Recollections of a bygone era,
A trip down memory lane to the reopening
Of schools, heralding the onset of monsoon.
