About Moonlit Days - A Journey of Words & Reflections
It all began during the Corona period. Like most people, we too had nothing much to do but sit at home, watching the world with a mix of fear and hope. Negativity was everywhere, and the only way to stay positive was to turn inward — into our own passions and creativity.
We have always loved literature; it runs in our blood. But until then, that love mostly expressed itself through reading rather than writing. By “we” I mean my mom, dad daughter, and myself.
During those quiet months, my parents were at our ancestral home while I was at mine. My mom finally found the time to revive her long-forgotten dream of writing Malayalam poems. My dad, a die-hard fan of classic English literature, began translating his favourite poems — The Road Not Taken, Daffodils, and many more — into Malayalam.
I have always been an occasional writer, someone who writes only when the heart insists. My daughter too began writing for her school magazine, adding her youthful touch to our family’s creative circle.
After the lockdown, my dad and mom published their first books — Sancharikkatha Veethikal and Chithariya Chinthakal. Since then, they have continued to write many more poems, sharing them on Facebook.
But I always felt that their beautiful words deserved a home of their own — a space where all our family’s creative expressions could stay together, unscattered. That thought gave birth to MoonlitDays.com and our Facebook page, MoonlitDays — a quiet corner to gather our writings, sketches, and art in one place.
A place to pause, read, and reflect — under the gentle glow of moonlight. 🌙
