Meet the Authors

M. Madhavankutty

Madhavankutty is a latecomer to the world of literature, having transitioned from a career rooted in numbers. This shift was not an easy one, but it has been a fulfilling journey.

Born in Thrissur, Central Kerala, in 1947, he qualified as a Cost & Management Accountant (CMA) after completing his basic education and retired from service in 2005. His wife, Rajeswari, is a prolific writer in Malayalam, known for both her prose and poetry. They are blessed with two children and three grandchildren.

Madhavankutty has a deep interest in observing the intricate patterns of human behavior and the subtle beauty of nature. He enjoys writing in both Malayalam—his mother tongue—and English, often lacing his work with gentle humor. His published work, സഞ്ചരിക്കാത്ത വീഥികൾ (Sancharikkatha Veethikal), is a collection of Malayalam translations of classic English poems such as The Road Not Taken and Daffodils, spanning three centuries of poetry.

In addition to writing, his other passions include photography and pencil sketching. Recently, he received the തൂലികാശ്രീ പുരസ്‌കാരം 2025 (കഥ) [അങ്കണം ഷംസുദ്ദീന്‍ സ്മൃതി] for his short story in Malayalam – പുനർജന്മം, marking a proud milestone in his literary journey.

Raji (Rajeswari M. Menon)

Born in 1956 in North Paravur, Kerala, Rajeswari is the granddaughter of the late Shri K. P. Shankara Menon, recipient of the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for his biographical work “Kesariyude Katha, and the late Smt. Ammukkutty Amma, a high school headmistress.

Her parents are the late Shri Balakrishna Menon and the late Smt. Ambika Devi. She completed her schooling at the Government Girls’ High School in North Paravur and went on to earn a degree in Chemistry from the renowned Union Christian College, Aluva.

She is married to Shri M. Madhavankutty Menon, a writer with a keen interest in translation literature. A collection of her poems titled ചിതറിയ ചിന്തകൾ [Chithariya Chinthakal (Scattered Thoughts)] has been published.

Currently residing in Velliyannur, Thrissur, she finds joy in reading, writing, cooking, and kitchen gardening.

Devika

Devika is a 15-year-old student of Class X at Co-operative Public School, Padukkad, Thrissur. She brings a gentle yet expressive voice to MoonlitDays, with articles and poems in both English and Malayalam that reflect her keen observations and youthful wisdom. Her writings have been featured in her school magazine and continue to grow in depth and creativity.

Devika is the granddaughter of M. Madhavankutty Menon and Rajeswari. She enjoys reciting poems in Malayalam and English, and finds joy in giving life to words through voice and rhythm.

Beyond writing, Devika has a vibrant creative spirit — she loves music, compering school events, caring for her pets, and making visual stories through her collage work. Her world is one of color, sound, and feeling — and she brings all of it to her writing.

Kavu

Kavu (Pen name) is the creative force behind MoonlitDays — a space where words bloom from memory, emotion, and observation. With a poetic lens and a thoughtful heart, her writings often explore the subtle ties between nature and human behavior, weaving themes of love, friendship, nostalgia, and everyday reflections.

She holds a Doctorate in Environmental Science from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala and has served as a Guest Lecturer at Thunchath Ezhuthachan Malayalam University, Tirur, Kerala — experiences that continue to inform the depth and perspective in her writing.

Along with being the site’s primary author, Kavu wears many hats — curator, editor, and designer — shaping MoonlitDays into a multigenerational platform for heartfelt expression.

A lover of Bharatanatyam and Mohiniyattam, she finds inspiration in the grace and rhythm of these classical dances, which often flow into her words and expressions.. Her love for music — especially Malayalam and Hindi film songs from the golden era — resonates through her creative spirit.

Kavu is also a passionate craftsperson, finding joy in stitching, fabric painting, oil pastels, and upcycled crafts, where she transforms the everyday into something meaningful and beautiful.

MoonlitDays is a reflection of all these passions — a space where art, nature, memory, and language meet.
