MoonlitDays

– Writings from the Heart

Sunset seen through the middle of ice-caped mountains, meandering river with rich greenery and an old temple on its banks

A land where rivers meander,

Where architectural wonders abound,

Where diversity has no dearth,

Oh India! I adore thee.

From snow-covered mountains

To sand-covered deserts,

From thick woods to barren lands,

Oh India! You are a land of wonders.

The old mountains and rivers

Murmur the tales of great cultures and traditions,

Oh India! You are a living witness,

To many invasions and sufferings.

Cities covered with bustling streets,

And villages typify calmness of nature.

Oh India! a myriad of religion and tradition,

I love thee!

Many people, many languages,

Many religions, many traditions,

Oh India! It doesn’t matter.

When calamities occur,

We are one!

You can see this much diversity.

And this much unity only in India.

If you can’t see the whole world,

Come see India, the land that reflects the world,

The land where dreams are made.
