MoonlitDays

– Writings from the Heart

Golden rays of the setting sun
Peeping through the canopy of leaves,
The idyllic surroundings,
Tranquil waters of the gently flowing river,
Cattle grazing lazily on the meadow,
A lone fisherman in a country boat
Out looking for a catch for dinner,
The temple on the other bank
Beckoning you to sojourn with Him,
Gentle breeze whispering sweet nothings
Among the branches of trees,
Trees on the banks casting eerie shadows
On the water, a gentle curve in the river,
The reflections of overhanging branches
Casting strange patterns in the water,
Two souls on the threshold of old age
Drinking in the beauteous scene
Travelled back in years in a wink,
Forgot ourselves in the sublime moment,
Lost in reverie, in a world of our own.
